Dustin Baird grew up on a steady diet of cartoons, cold cereal, dinosaurs, video games, legos, muppets and monster movies. These provided the perfect fuel for his imagination, and with encouragement from his parents, he soon learned he could create his own stories and characters using crayons, paper and pencils. In school, he began doodling on homework assignments, in textbooks and even on desks. One of his teachers, rather than punishing him for vandalism, loved the detailed mural he had drawn so much, she let him take the decorated desk home! In High School he began getting local commercial art jobs designing T Shirts and Christmas cards, and that was the beginning of his career as an artist.
Years later, Dustin has become a published illustrator, creating characters for websites, ad campaigns, T shirts, designed logos, large scale murals and worked on a host of marketing campaigns. Classically trained in oils and acrylics at both Utah State and Utah Valley Universities, Dustin now works almost exclusively digitally. As a full time studio artist, he is working to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming an author and illustrator of children's books.
Dustin currently lives in Saratoga Springs Utah with his beautiful wife and two little girls.
